RVE – Carpentry Sales Manager

How would you describe your role and what does it mean to you to represent the company in the carpentry market?
My role is to be the first point of contact between the company and the customer, ensuring clear and constructive dialogue. Representing the company means conveying its values, history, expertise and reliability, consolidating our position as a trusted partner in the carpentry sector.
Being the first point of contact for the customer requires attention, listening and vision: what do you think are the key qualities in this phase?
I believe that the key qualities are active listening, empathy and technical expertise. Understanding the specific needs of each customer allows us to offer tailor-made solutions, establishing a relationship of trust based on transparency and professionalism.
From initial contact to delivery of the offer, you accompany the customer through a delicate phase: how do you approach this process and what do you consider important to convey?
My approach is based on clarity, on the experience I have gained in over 20 years in the sector, and on precision. It is essential to guide the customer through every stage of the process with detailed and realistic information, ensuring quick and effective responses. Conveying confidence and reliability is the key to a lasting partnership.
Over the years, you have seen both projects and customer needs evolve: is there anything you try to emphasise more today when proposing our solutions?
Today, I pay particular attention to the customisation of solutions and sustainability. Customers are increasingly looking for efficiency and innovation, so promoting advanced materials and production processes is essential to meet their new needs. For Veragouth and Xilema, this means making the cross-disciplinary skills of our sectors available.
Calculating the offer is a strategic step: how do you manage to find the right balance between technical and economic sustainability and customer expectations?
The secret lies in a thorough analysis of all the variables involved. At this stage, I rely on both my personal experience and the support of our various Competence Centres because it is important to balance quality and cost, optimising production processes to ensure economically sustainable solutions without compromising technical quality and customer satisfaction.
Looking ahead, what aspects of customer relations or commercial work do you think will be important to develop or strengthen?
Although we operate mainly at the cantonal level, where human contact and word of mouth still carry enormous weight, I believe that the future will be increasingly oriented towards digitalisation and personalisation of the purchasing experience, even in the world of timber construction. Strengthening digital communication, improving the use of data to anticipate needs and offering an even more proactive service will be key aspects.
What is the most significant result or professional experience you have had in this role to date?
One of the most significant experiences was managing a complex project such as the Scudo di Stabio, which required particular attention during the estimation and negotiation phase. Customer satisfaction and the success of the operation confirmed the value of work based on competence, dedication and internal collaboration. Finally, designing, building and living with my large family in our own home has allowed me to experience first-hand the quality and comfort of our products. This has stimulated me and I admit that it often helps in the dynamics of my work, having been both a customer and a supplier at the same time.
