RAS – Head of Support

How would you describe your role and what meaning do you attribute to the work carried out within the Support Area?

Since this year, I’ve taken on the role of Head of the Support Area, a department that brings together very different fields, all united by a common goal: supporting the operational flow to ensure it functions as effectively and efficiently as possible. My role is to coordinate these various areas—from quality management to human resources, from IT systems to marketing and communication, including Allegra—ensuring consistency with the company’s priorities and overall objectives.

The Support Area works across multiple domains. What aspects of this activity do you find most stimulating?

What I personally find most stimulating about working in the Support Area is the opportunity to operate across the entire company, engaging with very diverse fields, projects, and people. This allows me to learn continuously, acquire a wide range of skills and knowledge, and broaden my overall perspective.

The variety and complexity of the areas involved make my work dynamic and engaging, enabling me to approach each day with curiosity and motivation.

Managing quality, human resources, IT systems, marketing, and Allegra involves dealing with very different areas. In your opinion, what is the main challenge of this role?

From my point of view, the main challenge in this role is being able to lead a team made up of experts in very different fields, even though I’m not a technical expert in each of those areas myself.

My job is to listen, to recognize and enhance each person’s specific skills, while also supporting and guiding the team’s work in line with the company’s vision and priorities.

Added to this is the complexity of managing a high volume of daily requests coming from across the entire operational structure. Our role is precisely to assign the right level of priority to each request and plan accordingly, ensuring an effective, timely service that remains aligned with the company’s goals.

What are some activities or projects that you consider representative of the cross-functional nature of your role and, more broadly, of the Support Area?

Throughout my experience, I’ve had the opportunity to follow projects that involved different areas and departments, clearly demonstrating the cross-functional nature of the Support Area. Among these, the design and implementation of a staff evaluation system combined quality and human resources into a single, cohesive process.

The revision of a production area, carried out in collaboration with the Head of Production, focused on analyzing workflows, movements, and operational efficiency.

The introduction of new software for construction site management also required coordination between quality, project management, and IT systems.

A central activity in this regard is the ongoing work with the Management team: our regular coordination meetings allow us to align goals and actions, and to translate strategic vision into operational activities that involve the entire organization.

In your opinion, what concrete contribution does the Support Area offer to the daily functioning of the company?

Without a doubt, the true value of the Support Area lies in the service it provides daily to the operational flow. The goal is to ensure efficient and effective support, allowing people to carry out their work in a simpler, smoother, and more productive way.

The entire company can rely on dedicated professionals who work to simplify processes and make tools easier to use, enabling operational departments to focus on their core activities without distractions or delays.

Looking ahead to the coming years, what developments or improvements would you like to introduce within the Support Area?

Looking to the future, I envision a team that is more mature, cohesive, and confident. The Support Area is still a relatively young structure and, as such, is in the process of learning to operate as a unified team, moving beyond a compartmentalized view of individual roles. My ambition today is exactly that: to build a group that no longer sees itself as a collection of individuals, but as a true team—one that shares goals, responsibilities, and direction.

What has been the most meaningful result or professional experience in your journey in this role so far? 4o

My experience at Veragouth e Xilema has, above all, been a daily life lesson. In my role, I have the opportunity to interact every day with people who hold different positions and bring diverse approaches and perspectives. Learning to listen, to communicate effectively, and to find the right channel depending on who I’m speaking with is a constant challenge—but also a valuable opportunity for both personal and professional growth. If I look back and think about what has impacted me the most, I’d say: change. In recent years, I’ve seen the company evolve, transform its culture, and strengthen shared values. Knowing that I’ve contributed—even in a small way—to that transformation is a great source of pride. It’s a process that requires time, patience, and consistency. But if you truly believe in it, change happens. And seeing it unfold, day by day, is what gives me the greatest strength.
