Large wooden exoskeletons as a paradigm of flexibility
The temporary gyms for the Middle School in Gordola and the Cantonal Business School in Bellinzona are undoubtedly a very interesting spatial experiment. The need to prepare the two facilities quickly for physical education classes led the Fiorini Architetti firm to create a prototype of a flexible and inexpensive temporary gymnasium. The design uses wooden frames arranged regularly in a tight rhythm that alludes to a kind of classical order translated into a contemporary key. Inside, a “box” of wooden floors and walls defies the traditional concept of cladding, composed of elements that can be easily transported and stored for disassembly and reassembly. All woodwork and carpentry work was carried out by our infallible team, ready to measure up to the most specific requirements of each project.
