Chief Project Manager for Carpentry and Sales
What is your role within the company? Can you describe it in detail?
At Veragouth and Xilema, I hold the position of Chief Project Manager for Carpentry and Sales. I am responsible for ensuring that every project meets the quality standards we have set, while also ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction. I also manage relationships with our clients, building trust and transparency.
Therefore, my duties include not only managing projects from the planning phase to final delivery but also coordinating sales activities.
Over the years, have you perceived an evolution in your position or how you operate? How would you describe this change?
In recent years, I have noticed significant growth in my position and my way of working, especially now that I have become Chief Project Manager for Carpentry and Sales. I have always been involved in the management and design of furniture, but over time, I have taken on greater responsibilities. The company has evolved considerably, leading to a division of tasks within the technical office. Currently, I focus primarily on managing the financial aspects, maintaining customer relationships, and overseeing projects comprehensively.
How do you think your role has contributed to the company's growth?
In my own way, thanks to my education and youth, I believe I have brought new skills and enthusiasm, along with a strong drive, flexibility, and availability towards both colleagues and clients. I am part of a team that has successfully redistributed roles within the technical office, maximizing the individual strengths of each collaborator.
What has been the most rewarding moment you have experienced in your work so far?
There are two in particular. The first was completing projects that significantly improved me professionally and challenged me, such as the Casa Anziani in Losone and the Ra Curta apartment. These projects allowed me to grow, face complex challenges, and strengthen my skills.
The second rewarding moment relates to actively contributing to the company’s ongoing development. Being part of the company’s evolution and seeing how my work and ideas can positively impact its progress is extremely satisfying.
Was there a project that you were particularly passionate about? Why?
Creating the furniture for an apartment in the Ra Curta residence was an experience that particularly fascinated me. It was one of my first projects, and for this reason, it had a significant impact on me. During this project, I had the opportunity to explore a new world of materials and processing techniques. The intensity of the experience, driven by the need to learn quickly and apply new skills in a short timeframe, deeply engaged me and helped me grow both professionally and personally.
What skills have you developed working here that you consider most valuable?
Working in this company, I have developed several skills that I consider extremely valuable. First of all, I have acquired specific technical expertise in fire protection and acoustics, which are essential to ensure safety and comfort in our projects.
I have also significantly improved my communication skills, learning to interact effectively with both colleagues and clients, which has strengthened professional relationships and facilitated collaboration.
Another important aspect is my ability to handle and manage stress. In a dynamic and often high-pressure environment, I’ve learned to stay calm and make thoughtful decisions. Additionally, I have developed strong teamwork abilities, recognizing the importance of cooperation and mutual support to achieve common goals.
Lastly, I have adopted a solution-oriented mindset. This approach has allowed me to tackle challenges with creativity and determination, constantly finding new ways to improve our work.
What challenges do you foresee in the long run of your career path?
Managing a team as the head of project managers represents a challenge that I am tackling with dedication. This experience is helping me refine my leadership, motivation, and personnel management skills, enabling me to create a cohesive and goal-oriented work environment.
The upcoming challenges will involve optimizing processes to ensure greater team efficiency and innovating project management to maintain and further enhance the high standards of quality we have achieved.
If you had to describe your experience in the company as a journey, what would be the main stages and why?
More than a journey, I’d say my experience in the company resembles a rollercoaster. The anxiety of the first months feels like the slow climb of a rollercoaster, where you feel tense and uncertain about what to expect. Once the initial hurdles are overcome, the descent begins, characterized by a series of challenges and mixed emotions. There are moments of great adrenaline.
I can certainly say that working at Veragouth is never boring.
If you had to choose one song representing your journey in the company so far, what would it be and why?
“Don’t Stop Believin’.” It’s an energetic song that inspires you to always look ahead.
