Facing complex negotiations between new materials and regulations
What is your role within the company? Can you describe it in detail?
I am a quotation calculator in the company, with additional project manager experience. I am dedicated to creating detailed quotations, essential tools for our sales team during negotiations with customers, and guiding them through complex commercial negotiations.
Over the years, have you perceived an evolution in your position or how you operate? How would you describe this change?
Over the years, our work has been profoundly influenced by the introduction of new materials, regulations, and protocols. Now our approach is no longer limited to assessing the feasibility and profitability of a project but considers all aspects that influence the development of a work so that designers can access the resources they need to overcome the challenges they encounter.
How do you think your role has contributed to the company's growth?
Coming from a previous experience in a competitor company, I brought with me new perspectives that enriched the fabric of our company. This fusion of past experiences and new opportunities at Veragouth and Xilema has allowed me to contribute significantly to the development and growth of the company.
What has been the most rewarding moment you have experienced in your work so far?
Representing a company with a long history and working on projects of great importance to the area has been an incredible experience. These projects not only define the industry construction future but also allow me to leave a lasting impression through my work.
Was there a project that you were particularly passionate about? Why?
Yes, we recently worked on a major project of international significance in the Locarno region, involving several partners. It involved a historical complex, which was subject to numerous restrictions by the cultural heritage office. These restrictions made the project complex but very stimulating, allowing me to navigate through enriching challenges.
What skills have you developed working here that you consider most valuable?
Working in Veragouth and Xilema, a structure that combines carpentry, joinery, and Vfcomm (supplier list), I have learned to integrate and enhance different skills. This multi-purpose approach has allowed me to have a complete vision of each project, understanding that success does not only come from the supply of specific products but also from the harmony and synergy of collective skills.
What challenges do you foresee in the long run of your career path?
The future challenges me to develop new synergies with both historical and new suppliers to adapt to the market’s changing needs. The goal is to implement innovative solutions that confirm us as an industry leader and to explore new market segments for sustainable and proactive growth.
If you had to describe your experience in the company as a journey, what would be the main stages and why?
My journey in the company has been full of energy and innovation, and each stage has contributed significantly to my personal and professional growth. I have had the opportunity to deeply impact company protocols and strengthen interpersonal relationships, creating a solid and dynamic environment for whoever comes after me. As I approach the next stage of my life, retirement, I feel proud to have actively contributed to the growth of this company.
If you had to choose one song representing your journey in the company so far, what would it be and why?
Two songs perfectly describe the daily challenges: ‘Highway to Hell’ by AC/DC, which reflects the struggle in a highly competitive market, and ‘Don’t Worry, Be Happy’ by Bobby McFerrin, which represents the need to maintain a positive and collaborative outlook to overcome obstacles and promote development.
