The new concept store in the heart of Lugano
Avart’s second concept store has recently opened in the heart of Lugano, now also dedicated to men, designed by architect Bruno Keller and his son Martino. Situated in a strategic location, the new store not only enriches the city’s shopping scene but also offers an unconventional and welcoming environment designed to meet the needs of a sophisticated male clientele. Bruno Keller’s experience, combined with Martino’s talent, has created a space that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing, integrating modern elements with a design that recalls timeless elegance.
Avart is a project that Veragouth and Xilema pursue from the heart; it is a family project that began four years ago with a store dedicated to women’s clothing. It is a field of action where Veragouth and Xilema has been experimenting with new techniques to realize an original architectural design in wood.
The Veragouth and Xilema team followed every step of the way, ensuring that every detail was taken care of with the utmost attention. In this project, wood, with its warm presence, takes on an even more central role: the finely sawn solid oak structures are assembled using construction techniques inspired by the Japanese sashimono technique. The resulting effect is one of light furniture that enhances the texture of the wood. This, in fact, is left raw and pure, without any treatment, thus maintaining its authentic essence and emphasizing its naturalness. This quality contrasts with the coldness of contemporary materials such as polycarbonate, offering a harmonious and balanced result.
One of the main challenges was to ensure lighting that was not only functional, but also capable of creating a unique experience for visitors. In close cooperation with ViaBizzuno, we designed innovative and high-quality lighting solutions. In addition, Massimiliano Moro’s art installation adds a distinctive touch to the space. Every piece of furniture has been carefully selected to enhance the interior and create a welcoming atmosphere, inviting customers to fully immerse themselves in the Avart experience.
Among the most recent innovations, Avart has decided to expand its offer and make itself even more accessible to the public, launching this week its new e-commerce site (avart.ch), designed for both him and her.
