The residential complex consists of a new construction grafted perpendicularly to a pre-existing building, and resumes the traditional themes of Ticino houses with arcades and balconies opening onto the courtyards. The project includes an apartment on one floor, with the sleeping area and relative services in the new part, and the living area in the old, recovered part. The old part has a three-layer fir wood cladding finish, to offer a contemporary interpretation of the stube (typical alpine living room and dining area) but also to differentiate itself from the new part, made of exposed reinforced concrete. The interior of the existing house was emptied for the insertion of two new slabs containing all the systems; the facades have been reclaimed and plastered in white. The west facade of the new part faces the courtyard, with balconies that recall the type of houses in the area. Wooden panels were installed on these balconies for solar and visual protection; the rear windows have transparent and opaque glass, as to alternate a rhythm of full and empty.
