The new home for the elderly is located between a river and a housing area, in a context characterized by public buildings surrounded by greenery. The building stands within this area as a strong presence of public value, preserving the green character of the area in contrast with the structure of the nucleus. The new volume has a central plan with four equivalent facades, that seek multiple relationships with the surrounding and end with collective terraces. A central serving space allows to rationalize and optimize surfaces and connections, and is characterized by two patios that allow natural lighting. The new volume is characterized by the subdivision into parts: the base that interacts with the topography; the detachment on the ground floor that opens all around; the raised volume with the rooms; the attic space on the third floor. Particular attention has been given to the modular windows of the rooms, which characterize their space and their relationship with the outside.
